Google Book Search, Publishers say: No fair use

January 2007

  • The University of Texas at Austin becomes the newest partner in the project (Google / University News Release)

  • Google starts integrating its popular mapping service with its books search engine, to let people plot on maps references to places they find in books (Digit)

  • The Munich-based Bavarian State Library, one of the biggest libraries in the German-speaking world, which contains around 9 million volumes in total, is to make about 1 million books available to the Google Book Search (ZDnet)

 

Mai 2007

  • The Cantonal and University Library of Lausanne in Switzerland is the fifth European Library, and the first French-language library, to partner with the Google Book Search program.

 

June 2007

  • Google is making its Book Search engine available to publishers interested in putting it on their Web sites (Techworld)

 

December 2007

  • Columbia University has joined the Google Book Search Library Project and will have its public domain titles digitized and available for full-text searching online. Columbia is 28th Institution in Google's Library Project.
